Tonya May Avent is an engaging speaker and award-winning author who is a regular contributor for Guideposts magazine and has contributed to the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Her first book, Using God’s Playbook for the Game of Life: 52 Scriptures Your Young Athlete Should Know Before Sending Them Off Into the World was released in 2022.
After a serious injury to her daughter while competing in Track and Field in 2018, Tonya started Destined 4 the Dub to share the gospel through a sports lens, offering personal stories relating to the intersection of her Faith, her Family, their athletic pursuits, and everyday life challenges.
In 2021, Tonya started Faith-Filled Moms to provide biblical and emotional support and content to encourage, uplift, and inspire women experiencing difficult seasons in life.
Tonya is mom to Kennedi (18) and Kassadi (15).
Markisha Greene – Producer

Philly native, Markisha Greene, grew up in the church where her grandfather was the associate pastor. She accepted Christ at an early age and has used His teachings and words as the moral compass of her life. She is a self-professed prayer warrior and will tell you faith has gotten her through all things in her life. Her go-to scripture is Philippians 4:6 ” Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.“
Proud mother of two grown daughters and pet mom to three cats and two dogs, Markisha is a high school science teacher and retired US Army veteran.

Jenise Rolle, mother of one 7-year-old daughter, is a South Jersey native with a passion for writing and inspiring women. Her goal is to encourage and uplift women to become honest with their emotions, so they can develop the proper tools to become the best versions of themselves. She believes that with the right support, encouragement, and a deeper relationship with Christ, we can change how we see ourselves, and confidently walk in our God-given purpose.
Deitra Huff Smith – Host

Deitra Huff Smith serves as Manager of Urban Development at Special Olympics North America in the Unified Champion Schools division. In her role, she is part of the leadership team responsible for implementing the goals, objectives, and strategies of Unified Champion Schools in urban and underserved communities across the United States.
Dee has over 25 years of experience working in nonprofit in the areas of communications, development, and program management. Dee resides in Deptford, NJ with her husband and two children. She is a proud “Autism Momma” to her amazing son and enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family. She also loves reading, listening to music and though she’s not a dancer, has recently added African dance to her exercise regimen.
